The world of work

As Australia's largest economic partners, there are many business and career opportunities relating to the study of Japanese, Korean and Mandarin:

Agriculture

The Asian region is a huge export market for beef, wool and wheat. Basic acquaintance with elements of etiquette and language can help to develop business relationships in Australian and overseas markets.

City work

The nearest major urban centres of Brisbane and the Gold Coast offer many careers where knowledge of Japanese, Korean and Mandarin are an advantage. These include real estate, tourism, hospitality, banking and finance.

Internationally

For students who decide to go further in their language studies in Years 9-12, there are many fascinating careers around the world in foreign affairs, health creative and entertainment industries, military and security services, translating, linguistics and, of course -- teaching!
